Linux (Ubuntu) jest najprostszym i najbardziej funkcjonalnym systemem jakiego używałem.
Dystrybucji linuxa było u mnie sporo (w tym nawet arch i gentoo)
Ale nic nie dorównuje ubuntu pod względem prostoty używania, możliwości konfiguracji dla przeciętnego użytkownika.
Najważniejsze jest wsparcie innych użytkowników Ubuntu, którzy nie boją się pomagać!!!

Me inicie en el Software libre como muchos de nosotros, a traves de aplicaciones como Firefox o Openoffice utiladas desde Window. El utilizar se convirtio en una pesadilla para mi, era terriblemente lento, el disco duro se me llenaba imcomprensiblemente y en general estaba bastante asqueado al tener que comprar un S.O. tan malo por 300 euros.
Al final, y con todo el valor decidi instalar Ubuntu debido a su fama. La instalacion fue perfecta y sin complicaciones. Ahora tengo los dos sistemas en mi portatil aunque hace ya unos dos meses que no inicio con el Vista. No tengo ningun motivo para iniciarlo ya que todos los programas de Vista los tengo en Ubuntu(messenger, navegador web, correo, suite ofimatica, editor de fotos, reproductor y cualquiera que te imagines). Siempre se ha hablado de los juegos de PC. El Ubuntu te puedes descargar con SOLO dos click una gran variedad. Incluso puedes hacer funcionar los juegos de Window con ciertos programas. Y en el peor de los casos siempre puedes iniciar Window e instalarlo alli.
El ubuntu va perfecto, rapido y tiene cierto encanto. Las cosas son mas accesibles, no he tenido ningun problema con las paginas web por usar Linux. Para estudiantes como yo va de fabula dado que te ahorras unos "cuantos" euros en una licencia al comprar solo el portatil

Windowsa miałem już dosyć... Mnóstwo wirusów, brak jakiejkolwiek stabilności... Na początku przerzuciłem się na Mandvrie jednak to nie było jeszcze to... Zainstalowałem Ubuntu - teraz nie umiałbym się przesiąść na inny system. Ubuntu wymiata :P
PS. Już namówiłem na niego kilka osób i są naprawdę zadowoleni :)

Yo conoci ubuntu en una conferencia que llego a la ciudad donde vivÃa, desde ese momento se me dio por saber mas sobre este sistema totalmente nuevo para mi. nunca habia escuchado sobre GNU/Linux y menos de ubuntu. pero me entusiasmo la idea de conocer otro sistema que no sea el aburrido windows con el que siempre habia vivido, el cual me limitaba de mucho. porque cada vez q sale una vercion nueva de software hay que comprar nuevo Hartwate. pero con ubuntu eso cambio, porque este sistema marabilloso no consume los recursos que windows. recuerdo emprezar ubunto desde la version 6.06, luego el 7.04, y ahora el mejorado y mas versatil 8.04 Hardy Heron este me tiene muy agusto. con ubuntu es todo mas accesible aparte que ya tengo que olvidarme de usar versiones de prueva como en windows, aqui en ubuntu todo se consigue desde los repositorios del sistema. aparte q me tengo que olvidar de los fastidiosos virus que me atacaban a diario en windows.
por eso Recomiendo A todo la gente usar ubuntu es mejor. sientase libres con este sistema. Se decia mucho del nuevo sistema de microsoft antes que salga Win Vista.
cuando compre mi laptop me vino con este sistema pero el grande problema esque absorve sus recursos no trabaja con rapidez como debe ser. por eso que le instale linux y es mas confortable. no tube problemas con los drivers acepto todos menos la webcam auque estoy seguro que pronto saldra una actualizacion que resuelva este inconveniente.
Bueno amigos solo puedo decir una cosa QUE ESTOY CON EL MEJOR SISTEMA DE TODOS LOS QUE HAYAN QUE NO CONSOCO. no que le supere ninguno aunque sigo usando windows por necesidades de programas para mis estudios. no dejo de lado mi ubuntu cada dia me gusta mas. GRACIAS. GRACIAS A TODOS LOS PROGRAMADORES DE TODO EL MUNDO QUE ESTAN DETRAS DE ESTE GRAN PROYECTO QUE ESTOY SEGURO QUE EN POCO TIEMPO TENDREMOS MAS SEGUIDPRES DETRAS DE ESTA MARAVILLA QUE ES UBUNTU y con esto concluyo UBUNTU PARA TODO EL MUNDO.

Well I guess the only think i want to say is :Ubuntu is the linux distribution that will bring all the world out of the proprietary software darkness to the paradise of open source / free software.
It's suitable for students ,young childs -yes my 9 years-old sister uses ubuntu really smoothly -,and even for old people who grew up using Microsoft Windows:the proof my dad ,55 years old is using ubuntu -except for his comptability application at work.
When using Ubuntu ,you just forget about viruses ,and with the huge community all around the world assisting every ubuntu user ,any problem you may experience will be resolved within hours ,you will never find that anywhere else !!

I began using Linux a few years ago because I was so frustrated with the performance of my Windows computer. I changed the house computer to Debian Linux , and then more recently to Ubuntu Linux. I was amazed at how easy it was to install Ubuntu. All the family are now familiar with Ubuntu, and can use it for all their computing needs. That's a family of five who can vouch that Ubuntu Linux is a great way to go. And they can do all their school-work and dissertations for a windows centric school.

Hace casi dos años conocà el Software Libre, desde ese entonces uso Ubuntu! He tratado de mostrar a familiares y amigos las bondades del Software Libre y hasta el dÃa de hoy he logrado que casi todos usen también Ubuntu, aunque les he mostrado otras alternativas de Sistemas Operativos GNU/Linux como OpenSuse, Slackware, Debian, asà como también derivadas de Ubuntu como LinuxMint, Kubuntu, Xubuntu, Gobuntu, Ubuntu Studio...

bueno mi primer contacto con ubuntu fue por foros me hablaban tan bien que me gano la curiosidad yo tenia en ese entonces win xp y ni modos me cambiaba a vista asà que probé algo nuevo instale mi ubuntu 7.10 a decir no fue nada difÃcil su instalación unos clic aquà rellenar aquà y listo nada del otro mundo hasta que por fin termino de instalar y me reconoció todo el hardware nada mas no hay que buscar antivirus ni nada de colgadas simplemente disfrutaba mi pc me bajaba musica archivos sin cuidarme de los virus por qeu no existe en ese mundo openoffice amsn xine todo lo que siempre se bandereaba windows ahi estaba y funcionando a lo bien bonito lo unico en si era un poco mas tosco en diseño peor ahi bien probe compiz fusion y me quede asombrado que graficos en 3d tenia mi pc y eso qeu hablo de 512de ram y me corria a muy buena me pase a ubuntu 8.04 y mejoraron muchas cosas como diseño un poco mas suave se notaba los cambios y algunos problemas que tube en 7.10 desaparecieron con 8.04 asi que mejoro en si mejoro y para bien hasta que me tope con algunos problemas y nada del otor mundo que buscando no se pueda solucionar ahi muchos tutoriales que te ayudan hacer las cosas mas faciles es cosa de querer aprender y configurar nada mas asi qeu estoy feliz con 8.04 y esperemos que tal va con 8.10 que sale para octubre

After years and years of pirating Windows and all the software necessary to make my computer useful, my conscience and God finally began to nag at me to stop the theft, however necessary.
I had tried Linux years ago (Red Hat, I believe) but found it couldn't do much of anything that I needed my computer to do. So I had stuck with Windows.
When my brother in-law told me about Ubuntu, I downloaded Dapper 6.06 and again was disappointed. But since Edgy 7.04 was also out at this time, I gave that a shot and was blown away.
I went through probably 4 months of pure hell and frustration while I learned about this entirely new form of computing; I had grown up using DOS, Windows 3.1, and so forth, but Linux was a beast I had never learned about.
Looking back, I am actually grateful that I came to Ubuntu in its relative infancy because the bugs and lack of intuitiveness forced me to really delve into the belly of Linux and learn how it works from the inside out.
I'm still quite far from an expert and there are very common *nix subjects that I have yet to find interest in (ssh, bash, developing, etc), but I'm now very much at home with Ubuntu. My mother, my sister, my girlfriend and her two kids all use Ubuntu at home now and no one has missed Windows one bit!

¿Que por qué uso Ubuntu? Uso Ubuntu porque un dÃa descubrà que no era libre. Uso Ubuntu porque un dÃa descubrà que se puede vivir, y que se vive mejor sin Windows. Uso Ubuntu porque un dÃa descubrà que no hay por qué pagar (ni piratear) software. Uso Ubuntu porque ya quisiera Microsoft tener una comunidad detrás como la que tiene Ubuntu. Responder a ¿por qué usas Ubuntu? es sencillo. Lo difÃcl es contestar a ¿por qué no usas Ubuntu?

La verdad ya habia oido de linux......pero nunca me avia despertado la curiosidad, me comento un amigo de la misma universidad que habia intalado linux, y desde ese momento me desperto la curiosidad que le dije que me explicara mas sobre linux, empece a investigar de como se instalaba y de como se utilizaba, logre mi proposito de instalar con la ayuda de varios blog y de mi cuate, la primer impresion me impresino lo grafico que es, donde podia poner los efectos a mi gusto y gana, desde ese momento me encanto linux, compre una laptop amd64 y entonces decidi mandar a la basura el vista que trae, y le instale ubuntu feisty despues me entere que sacan otras versiones a cada 6 meses actualmente estoy con hardy heron una de las distrubuciones que mas me gusta por ser mas estable y confiable que las demas, ahora mi vicio es aprender mas sobre linux de manera que estoy instalando linux en la maquinas de mis amigos para que lo puedan conocer y utilizar para que se den cuenta que linux es el mero mero jefe de todos los sistemas operativos.

Do zmiany systemu na ubuntu przygotowywałem się przez dłuższy czas, wymagało to zakupu nowego dysku, zarchiwizowania większości danych itp. Na szczęście system okazał się dość 'idiototporny' więc (prawie) wszystko działało od razu po instalacji.
Nie mniej początki były trudne przez pewien czas używałem głównie Xp, który jednak padł po pewnym czasie zamordowany przez sterowniki portu na podczerwień (na ubuntu działało bez problemu). Nie miałem czasu na instalowanie wszystkiego od nowa, a po pewnym czasie nie miałem nawet ochoty wracać do xp ponieważ większość używanych prze zemnie programów była o wiele lepsza niż darmowe oprogramowanie dostępne pod system microsoftu.. a i kilka z tych które okazały się niezbędne dało się uruchomić przez wine.
System (ubuntu 7.10) działał wolniej niż xp (jest dość pamięciożerny) więc muszę korzystać z xfce, nie wszystko działa bez problemów (nie potrzebnie wybrałem wersje 64bitową) ale jest mimo to o wiele wygodniejszy w obsłudze od systemów ms.

La historia de M$ es patetica puesto que maneja un sistema de publicidad basado en un solo SO, al parecer el SO Windows deberia fomentar el desarrollo pero no es asi ya que la produccion se arruina cuando la maquina se cuelga o incluso se malogra y !que extraño que las maquinas de la misma marca y modelo tengan el mismo fin!(por ejemplo falso contacto). El Ubuntu es un SO que merece el aplauso general puesto que es accesible e increiblemente parecido a lo que yo produzco en la computadora. Realmente es un gran respiro de entre tantos virus que arruinan las computadoras.

I have been using Linux on and off for over a year now. I have tried so many distros that i can not remember what they all are. What i do know is that Ubuntu is my favorite by far. It is the nicest that i have found. Right now i have an old compaq desktop that is running Ubuntu server with the gui, and it works great. have not had a single problem yet!!!

Tengo un negocio de impresion y copias desde hace 15 años desde esa època he usado el windows.... bueno desde que saliò el primero en el 95, En mi paìs actualmente hay un movimiento muy fuerte hacia Ubuntu, y me diò curiosidad por utilizarlo,, lo instalè en una maquina pentiun 4 que ya la tenìa practicamente paa desechar - por lo lerda que es bajo la plataforma de windows xp , y decidì instalarle el ubuntu, el cual me "flechó" por su seguridad, velocidad, nada de instalar antivirus, y sobre todo por la velocidad de ejecuciòn, Esto me demostrò que la computadora que iba a botar aun me servia. posterior a eso hice pruebas para ver si reconocìa las mà quinas impresoras y copiadoras que tengo en red y junto con el tecnico se pudo instalar una fotocopoadora Ricoh aficio 1075 otra fotocopiadora Canon IR105, y una copiadora de color Toshiva 3100C, esto fue fantà stico, no se imaginan ustedes la felicidad cuando salieron las paginas de prueba. Continuo en pruebas ahora para verificar la consistencia de las impresiones con deiferentes fuentes e imà genes.... Me he propuesto la meta de que mis clientes conozcan las bondades de esta plataforma...

I have been using Windows for ages, and it just hated me, no matter what I it would give me errors. I re-installed it so many times and it went so slow, booting took about 5 mins. That with 2gb RAM and XP Home. Anyway I heard of Linux. I have slow internet so requested a free CD and it arrived with a collection of stickers. To begin with it was a bit confusing, trying to run binaries without compiling them but once I found the repositories it was so easy and the community is excellent. After installing Compiz, Wine, Emerald and Banshee I have everything I need. OK, some game don't work under wine but the nibbles game installed by default it amazing. We would bring in the live cd and play it during our maths lessons. Anyway. For those of you who like M$ then fair enough. But for those of you who are constantly bugged by errors Ubuntu may save your sanity, as well as your wallet.

My first experience with Linux was in 2005 (in first year of college) when I got this live CD of Knoppix with a magazine. I booted my computer with it and I was amazed to see that an operating system could run from a CD. Then I downloaded the most common distro at that time (which was recommended to me by my seniors in college) Fedora Core 4. I installed it on to my system but I didn't liked it. Then I went for Mandriva which I again got from CHIP DVD (i'm a subscriber though). It was cool but taxed my system (P4 2.4 Ghz, 256 MB RAM). Then the next month the magazine provided Ubuntu 5.10, I installed it, didn't quite liked it much, removed it and installed SUSE Linux. When Ubuntu 6.06 came, I was stunned to see the marvellous user interface, the gorgeous theme and the live-cum-installation CD. I installed it on the system and never looked back.
Now I've upgraded my system to AMD Athlon X2 4400+, 2GB RAM, 8600 GT & 320GB HDD. I've tri booting of my system with OpenSUSE 11, Ubuntu 8.04 (both in 64-bit) and Windows XP for playing games. As no new game has released I haven't booted into Windows since last 2 months.. Ubuntu rocks.. All hail the Penguin..

Bueno, yo oà Linux de una compañera de mi colegio. Luego lo conocà en un foro y por entonces usaba WinXP. Un dÃa me dió el portátil pantalla azul. Tuve que mandarlo a que me lo arreglaran(mal hecho, pero el caso es que estaba apenado). Mientras me lo arreglaban (o hacÃan el vago XD) miré lo de Linux y cuál era la distro más facil. Vi que la más facil era Ubuntu y era gratuito:).
Me decidà a instalarlo directamente sin usar Linux en mi vida. Formateé(tenÃa Photoshop y Nero), configuré la WiFi y aquà me tienen^^. De eso solo hace 2 meses. No me arrepiento. Asà que mando este mensaje a todos los que usen Windows aún(incluyo a mi padre):
"No sigáis con ese sistema tan malo. Eso sólo os ha quitado dinero y encima es inestable. Usad Linux. Es más seguro, estable y funcional. Usadlo pues. No es malo sólo por que esté en desarrollo. Le da 1,000,000 de vueltas al XP. Os lo dice un servidor"

Ubuntu is my favourite work desktop environment and server arrangement. Installation is a breeze, no maintenance needed and the debian apt-get software packaging system is cunning.
